Introducing Naples Chiropractor Dr. Richard Hiler

Hello and welcome to our website. I'm Dr. Richard Hiler. If you are looking for a chiropractor chances are you are either sick or in pain. I can tell you first hand that I know how it feels. When I was in my early twenties I was literally sick all the time, allergic to everything, and suffered excruciating headaches on a daily basis. Due to weightlifting injuries I also had periods of severe back pain and lightning bolt like shocks into both legs.

I met a chiropractor at a fitness center where I worked in Buffalo, New York. I got a part time job in his office doing patient evaluations. Even with a background in the health professions, chiropractic seemed a bit bizarre to me. But if he could help me to feel better, I was eager to give it a try. Within six weeks of frequent care I was feeling great, all my symptoms were gone. A short time later I was off to chiropractic college in Atlanta, Georgia. As I continued getting chiropractic adjustments in college my allergies also cleared up.

In 1998, I moved to Naples, Florida, to do an internship and in 2001 I opened my own practice. Like most chiropractors I've witnessed miraculous health changes with many patients. It's amazing how the body can heal itself with a healthy functioning spine and nervous system. It is the most gratifying job I can imagine. Shortly after opening my doors in 2001, I was moving heavy equipment at the office and herniated a disc in my low back. I fell to the floor and couldn't move. I hid my pain the best I could but for the next three years I battled constant and severe pain. I would wake up every day in a bent forward position. It would take me an hour of exercise in the morning to loosen up so that I could go work. Of course I have my own chiropractor but chiropractic doesn't always help a herniated disc. Finally, I discovered Spinal Decompression which is now my specialty.

In 2004, I was the first office in Naples to offer Spinal Decompression. Since then I have purchased and used every piece of equipment I could find to help my own back. Today my back is once again healed and I feel 100% better. I now specialize in chronic and severe cases. The majority of the time my staff and I are able to help even the worst of the worst cases of neck and back pain even when every other treatment has failed.

I have a great staff and a great group of clients/patients. I have been told many times by patients that we are the only doctor's office they actually enjoy visiting. Our office stays very busy but our standard of care is superior.

On a personal note, I found my beautiful wife, Dawna, here in Naples at the gym and we were married in November 2006. She is a nurse and hence I have developed many alliances with medical professionals. We don't have kids yet but we have a 4 lb Chihuahua named Rudy and a cat named Lexi. Rudy gets dressed and comes to work with me most days. He is quite popular. In my spare time we like to golf, exercise, and travel. I am away about fifteen weekends a year at various seminars always trying to expand my knowledge and talents to offer the best for my patients.
