Introducing Naples Chiropractor Dr. Diana Doty

Naples chiropractor, Dr. Diana DotyHi, welcome to our website. If you have scoliosis or chronic pain, I know where you're coming from, and I want you to know there is a solution to your problem. For more information on the services I offer, see the recent article in the Naples Daily News about our scoliosis clinic: http://www.naplesnews.com/news/2010/mar/01/alternative-method-scoliosis-offers-options/

Here is my story:

I have had chiropractic care from a very early age, to help with whiplash I suffered in a car accident as a child. Chiropractic was the only thing I knew that could ease my daily headache and neck pain, and I went to the chiropractor 3 times a week for years. Chiropractic adjustments always helped, but I often wished there was a way I could get permanent correction of my problem. The whiplash had snapped the ligaments in my neck, and my bones settled into an abnormal, crooked position, giving me abnormal posture. The bad position kept my joints from moving properly, which brought on the pain. The chiropractic adjustment would cause a one-time motion in the joints, which would eventually settle back into fixation.

I finally found the postural correction technique, which fixed my daily headache for good. For long-term relief, I had to fix and stabilize the position of the bones in my neck with specific rehab, balance training and exercise, in addition to specific chiropractic care based on my posture. After going through the whole treatment, I can now handle my condition largely on my own, with an occasional chiropractic check up.

Postural correction empowered me as a patient, and now as a doctor I offer the same possibilities to my patients. From a minor abnormality to scoliosis, postural correction makes real long-term changes in the structure of the body and greatly reduces chronic symptoms. You deserve a real solution that empowers you to take control of how you feel. I’m so happy you have found me.

Richard Asks some important questions of interest to Naples residents - Chiropractor Naples Richard Asks...

What's the difference between chiropractic and medicine?
Medical treatment focuses on the disease or the symptom. Chiropractic focuses on the person with the disease or the symptom. Medical treatment usually involves changing blood chemistry. Chiropractic involves restoring nervous system integrity. Medical doctors prescribe medicine. Chiropractors adjust the spine—a common source of nervous system interference.
What is the purpose of pain?
Pain prompts many Naples folks to begin chiropractic care. But pain isn't the problem! Pain is just how your body alerts you that a limit has been reached (or exceeded), that something isn't working right and that some type of change is needed. As a chiropractor, my job is finding the underlying cause and recommending the changes needed to bring your body back into balance.
